STERLINGTON – The No. 31-seeded Crowley Gents gave the No. 2-seeded Sterlington Panthers all they could handle, but came up short, 37-36, in overtime.

The Gents ended its season 5-6 while the Panthers improved to 10-0 and will play the Kaplan-Bossier winner next Friday.

With Sterlington leading 14-8 at halftime, Crowley answered with two touchdowns to take a 22-14 lead to begin the fourth quarter.

The Panthers then responded with two touchdowns of their own to take a 30-22 lead.

With time running out, the Gents scored and converted the two-point conversion to send the game into overtime at 30-all.

The Gents received the ball first in the extra frame and scored to take a 36-30 lead.  The Gents were not successful on their two-point conversion attempt.

Sterlington tied the game at 36-all by scoring on its first play from scrimmage and won the game when the extra-point went through the goalposts.
