Ladies Come Back From Early Deficit to Slip Past Mamou

MAMOU – The Crowley Ladies came back from an early three-run deficit to defeat the Mamou Lady Green Demons 7-6 here Monday.

The Ladies are currently 20-6 on the season, 9-3 in District 5-3A.

Trailing 3-0 after three innings, the Ladies closed to within 3-2 in the top of the fourth.  Lily Hoffpauir connected on a two-out single, and she was followed by Nella LaGrange with a home run.

The Ladies took the lead in the top of the sixth, 6-3, with four more runs, but the Lady Green Demons answered in the bottom of the frame with three runs of their own for a 6-6 tie.

Crowley took the 7-6 lead in the top of the seventh when Jocelyn Marceaux scored.

LaGrange was the winning pitcher as she struck out two and allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks.

LaGrange also had two hits on the day and drove in five RBI.  Also hitting for the Ladies were Sckylier Baronet (two hits), Phobee Spell (single), Hoffpauir (single), and Marceaux (single).
