PINE PRAIRIE – The Crowley Gents fought back to defeat the Pine Prairie Panthers 50-44 in overtime here Tuesday.

The victory keeps Crowley (13-8 overall) tied atop the district standings with Northwest at 6-1.

Crowley never had the lead in the first three quarters and trailed by as many as seven points.

Over time, however, was a different story as the Gents went up 46-42 with about a minute remaining.  The Gents iced the game when Marquarius Throne, who finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds, converted a couple of free throws and then ended the contest with a dunk.

Also scoring for Crowley were Braeden Board with 11 points, Roderick Nelson with eight points, Marquis Garrett with seven points, Bryan Montgomery with four points, and Noah Hayes with two points.

Pine Prairie Lady Panthers 50, Crowley Ladies 47

PINE PRAIRIE – The Pine Prairie Lady Panthers held on for a 50-47 victory over the Crowley Ladies here Tuesday.

The Ladies fell to 12-10 overall, 5-4 in the district.

The Ladies trailed 21-16 at halftime and were also down 31-24 at the end of the third period.  The Ladies closed the gap in the fourth period by outscoring Pine Prairie 23-19.

Scoring in double figures for Crowley were Marcy Miller with 14 points and Taylor Walker with 11 points.

Also scoring for the Ladies were Taylor Perkins with eight, Mira’Nekia Lastrapes with six points, Imani Jackson with six points, and Lily Hoffpauir with two points.
