OPELOUSAS – The Crowley Gents dropped its first game of the season with a 64-53 loss to the Opelousas Catholic Vikings in the Opelousas Catholic Tournament here Thursday.

The Gents held the early lead, but the Vikings rallied for the 30-26 advantage at halftime.  Crowley outscored Opelousas Catholic 19-18 in the third period to close within 48-45 heading into the final frame, but the Vikings had the 16-8 advantage in the fourth.

Marquarius Thorne led the Gents with  29 points, while he also added 12 rebounds and eight blocks.

Also scoring for Crowley were Braeden Board with 15 points, Noah Hayes with five points, Dylan Hunter with two points, and Ronderick Nelson with two points.
