Crowley High Homecoming Court, Activities Announced

Crowley High School will begin its annual Homecoming festivities with the traditional dress-up days and end the week with the dance, but the highlight of the week will be the crowning of the queen during halftime of the football game on Friday.

The dress-up days are Monday, Character Day; Tuesday, Tacky Tourist Day; Wednesday, Nerd vs. Jock Day; Thursday, Jersey Day; and Friday, Spirit Day.

The parade, which will feature the Homecoming Court, will be held on Thursday at 6:30 p.m., beginning at the intersection of 10th St. and Parkerson Ave.  It will head south, go around the Court Circle, and turn around at Second St.

The pep rally will take place Friday afternoon.  The Court will be introduced and escorted to their seats by senior football players.  These same players will then compete for Homecoming King.  The Court will also participate in games.

Members of the 2018 Homecoming Court include Football Sweetheart Kaitlyn Guidry, Sckylier Baronet, Lindaya Brooks,  Alexus Clement, Hannah Cormier, Nella LaGrange, Marcy Miller, Brenlye Reed, Isabella Reyes, Phobee Spell, and Anijah Williams.

2018 Football Sweetheart Kaitlyn Janae Guidry

Kaitlyn is the daughter of Melvecchio Guidry and Nicole Cain. She has been a Crowley High School cheerleader for four years and an All-American cheerleader for two years. Kaitlyn was a member of the Crowley High School Ladies track team, 4-H Club and the prom committee for one year. She has been a member of Student Council and Key Club for four years. She has also been a member of FCCLA for three years and the Art Club and French Club for two years. Kaitlyn has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years. She received the Hardest Working Student award during her junior year and she received an academic jacket her senior year. Kaitlyn plans to attend Southern University and major in nursing.

Sckylier Brook Baronet
Sckylier is the daughter of Chadwick Baronet and Jamie Gauthreaux. Sckylier was a member of the CHS volleyball team for three years and the CHS softball team for four years. For softball, she was an all-state catcher during her junior year and a second team all-district catcher during her freshman year. Sckylier was also an all-district utility player for her sophomore and junior years. She received the Student of the Month award during her junior year. She plans to attend Louisiana State University at Eunice and major in Elementary Education.

Lindaya Monae Brooks
Lindaya is the daughter of Ceasar and Yosha Brooks. Lindaya is currently a member of the Student Council. She was a member of FCCLA for two years where she was named as Sweetheart during her junior year. She is a member of the National Honor Society and she received an academic jacket. She was a member of the Crowley High School band for one year. Lindaya has received the Hardest Working Student award several times. After graduation, she plans to join the United States Air Force.

 

Alexus Renee Clement
Alexus is the daughter of Cody Clement and Sherron Burgess. Alexus was a member of the Crowley High School band for one year. She was an active member of the FCCLA for one year and the Student Council for two years. She is currently a member of the National Honor Society and she received an academic jacket. During her junior year, Alexus was chosen as the Hardest Working Student
and the Student of the Month. Alexus plans to attend Louisiana State University at Eunice and major in Kinesiology.

Hannah Kaye Cormier
Hannah is the daughter of Kevin and Gretchen Cormier. Hannah has been a member of the Crowley High School Ladies volleyball team for four years. For volleyball, she received all-district honorable mention her freshman year, 2nd team all-district during her sophomore year, and 1st team all-district during her junior year. Hannah also received a volleyball award for having the most assists during her junior year. Hannah was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Student Council for two years. She received an academic jacket her senior year. Hannah plans to attend Louisiana State University at Eunice and major in nursing.

Nella Ali LaGrange
Nella is the daughter of Neil LaGrange and Cindy Thibodeaux. Nella has been a member of the Crowley High School Ladies softball team for four years. Nella was selected as the Best Defensive Player during her freshman and sophomore years and Most Valuable Player in her junior year. During her freshman year she was a 2nd team all-district pitcher and during her sophomore year, she was a 1 st team all-district pitcher. As a junior, Nella was named as an all-state pitcher. Nella
received all-parish honors during her freshman, sophomore, and junior years. She received an academic jacket her senior year. Nella plans to attend college and major in Elementary Education.

Marcy Gail Miller
Marcy is the daughter of Brenda Miller. Marcy is a member of the National Honor Society. She was a member of FFA, a United Way volunteer reader, and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for two years. Marcy has earned an academic jacket this year and she was Student of the Month during her junior year. Marcy has been a member of the Crowley High School Ladies softball team for four years where she received the Most Improved Player award during her sophomore year. She also was a member of the Ladies basketball team for three years where she received district, parish, and defensive awards. Marcy was a member of the Ladies Volleyball team where she was all-district during her junior year. Marcy plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and major in Kinesiology.

Brenlye Jade Reed
Brenlye is the daughter of Tracie Reed-Espree and Darryl Hinds, Sr. Brenlye has been a Crowley High School cheerleader for four years and an All-American cheerleader for two years. She has been a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Council for two years. During her junior year, she participated in the Literary Rally for World Geography. Brenlye received the Hardest Working Student award and the Student of the Month award during her junior year. She received an academic jacket her senior year. Brenlye plans to attend McNeese State University and major in nursing.

Isabella Reyes
Isabella is the daughter of Ana Gloria Colin. Isabella has been a Key Club and Student Council member for three years. She was a member of the Interact Club for two years and the Art Club for one year. Isabella is currently a Crowley High School cheerleader and a member of the National Honor Society. She received the Hardest Working Student award and an academic jacket. Isabella plans to attend McNeese State University and become an Orthodontist.

 

Phobee Anna Spell
Phobee is the daughter of Brent Spell and Deana Fontenot. Phobee has been a member of the Student Council for two years. She has been on the Crowley High School Ladies softball team for four years where she was an All-State shortstop during her freshman and junior years. She was also nominated for the LHSAA 2018 Player of the Year Award. She received the Hardest Working Student award during her junior year. Phobee plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and major in sports medicine.

Anijah Paige Williams
Anijah is the daughter of Nicholas and Nicole Williams. Anijah has been a Crowley High School Cheerleader for four years and was cheer captain her junior year. She has been a member of the Ladies Track and Field team where she served as captain for one year. She holds the CHS record for the 200-meter dash and she qualified for the state track meet every year. Her 4 by 4 relay team placed first at the district and state track meets during her junior year. Anijah has been a member
of the Art Club for two years, Student Council for four years, the Interact Club and the Prom committee for one year. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and she received an academic jacket. Anijah was the freshman class vice president, the sophomore class secretary,  and the junior class vice president. Anijah plans to attend McNeese State University and major in nursing.
